| Is there a way for you to provide that background as one piece...instead of a left and right? If so, we can use it as OC has with the current "carbon".

Not sure. How large do I make the image? Doesn't the BG expand to fit the browser window? (both width as well as length of page?) i.e a repeating pattern is required. let me know.

| Generally, making stuff larger is always better. You worded your post really oddly.
-If the image is set to width="100%" then it will stretch the entire page. Right now it's there behind the actual forums. A repeating pattern is only necessary if you don't stretch the background. You could use the two images you posted for the extreme left and right of the page, and then cut out the middle area (so there is only the greyish color, no sides) and use that as the piece you stretch.
